Fired Up Studios is a community pottery studio located in Golden Valley, MN. It was created to provide the space and equipment to allow clay artists and potters of all levels to explore their creativity and work in a supportive environment. We offer a variety of services including a retail gallery, pottery classes, and membership options.

Pottery ClassesSpring Pottery Class registration is coming in early March. Please sign up for Our Email List to get notification of upcoming classes and registration dates. Make sure you indicate that you wish to receive notifications about Classes when you sign up. If you don't see a confirmation email after you sign up, check your SPAM. Clay DatesWe offer Clay Dates on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Classes are small so space is limited and they can fill up quickly. Please plan ahead if you are looking to book a Clay Date, especially if you have a group of people. Classes are adults only, and we try to keep them to around 8 students. More information and registraion is available on our Clay Date page. MembershipIf you are interested in learning more about membership at Fired Up Studios, you call us at 612-852-2787 to schedule a membership tour. Tours are available by appointment only; no walk-ins, please. We currently have a waiting list for new studio members. Please email us or call us to be put on the waiting list. We will call you when a space becomes available so please include your phone number if you email us. There is no waiting for new firing members, but sign-ups are by appointment only. Please call us at 612-852-2787 to set up an appointment for a firing membership tour. Ask the PotterAsk the Potter is a program designed for our current members who are looking for instruction beyond Beginning Pottery classes or just have a one-off question. Once a month, we have an instructor available to our members for feedback, critique, demonstrations, or whatever pottery help they are looking for. Topics are determined by the requests of members from previous classes. The program is free for both firing and studios members. It is not available for non-members. Augsut 2024Mon, Aug 12 at 6 p.m. Rachel Madden will be deomonstrating altered forms. Members are encouraged to bring soft forms that they can cut and shape. September 2024Sat, Sept 21 at 10 a.m. Melissa Gust will be demonstrating surface decoration techniques and underglazes. Ocotber 2024Mon, Oct 21 at 6 p.m. Kim Burnham will be demonstrating how to collar in forms to create a skinny neck bottle or vase. Please note that last minute changes to this schedule can happen due to instructor availability. We will do our best to update the website and studio signs promptly, but it takes time. |
My friend and I had a fun time (although we were awful at making pottery) and we plan to try it again sometime. Our instructor, I believe his name was Francis, was very helpful and patient while showing us what to do. I would highly recommend anyone to attend his class or a class in general.
